Hi,
We use a piece of in-house software to record data and store the results in .dat files. Recently a colleague could not open a file as DIAdem 9.1 stated that it could not load the file with the loading mode "DD8x". I couldn't find any reference to this message in the help files.
After comparing the .dat file with a good one I noticed that a space character had been inserted at the beginning of the filename just before saving it. I removed the space from all the relevant places and it worked. However, that space character correctly appears in both .dat and .R32 filenames and in each relevant line of the .dat file so why didn't it open? I can't find anything in the help files about acceptable filename characters - is the space character not allowed or was it just that it was at the beginning of the filename?
Thanks,
Si.

Hi Simon
Try opening the .dat file in notepad and check whether the channel name is 04.R64.
If
it is, then change the name of the .R64 and .W16 files to 04.R64 and
04.W16 and then open the .dat file in DIAdem and it should work.

Hello Simon!
I like to add that in general a space at the beginning of a filename is not allowed in Windows.
