DIAdem 2020 SP1: Error trying to create a new ANP file

I followed the steps at https://www.ni.com/documentation/en/systemlink/20.1/analysis/creating-analysis-automation-procedures... -- when I click "OK" at Step 5, I get this error and the "Configure Analysis Automation Procedure" dialog disappears:

Any ideas what's causing this?
I've installed DIAdem 2020 SP1 on a few different PCs before and none of them had this error.
The error occurs on a machine with Windows Server 2012 R2, if that matters.

Does the effect disappear? The Control should be registered again.

Is there additional NI software installed like:
- Systemlink server
- ...
If yes which Version?
Do the other machines (the working ones) use different Windows versions?
The other (working) machines had various versions of Windows 7 -- 10, but none of them had Windows Server 2012 R2.
I can think of 1 other difference: All of the working machines installed DIAdem via NIPM's "Browse" functionality; the problematic machine installed DIAdem using an offline installer (ni-diadem-2020-en_20.1.0_offline.iso)
