Hello,
When peforming calculation using and of the functions in the basic mathematics function tab the resulting calculation creates a channel with a default name. For example when I add two channels together (and do not specify to overwrite a channel) the new channel that is created is "added"
Is there anyway to change these defaults without writing/executing a script?
FYI
I am using DIAdem 2015 64 Bit

Hello Tim,
As far as I know, the channel names are hard-coded for the results of mathematical functions in DIAdem. I have many times thought about wanting different names there as well.
I believe the issue is that there are several hundred of these names (at least one for each ANALYSIS function in DIAdem), and it would be a major effort for any user to change the default names of all these to something they like.
You can go over to the DIAdem Idea Exchange forum and request this as a feature: http://forums.ni.com/t5/DIAdem-Idea-Exchange/idb-p/diademideas
There might be different avenues, including allowing the user to enter a channel name(s) in the ANALYSIS dialog of his/her choice before executing the function ...

Thats what I thought
Thanks for the reply.

How would I allow the user to enter a channel name(s) in the ANALYSIS dialog of his/her choice before executing the function?

Hello Tim,
In reading my reply again realized my response is a little confusing. This is not currently an option, adding your own channel names in ANALYSIS dialogs would be a request for R&D.
I shouldn't be answering forum posts at 1 am in the morning,
Otmar
