Does Diadem support MSA and Six pack analysis

Hello Team,

Does Diadem supports MSA or six pack analysis. If so is there any scripts available or what could be the process.

Thanks InAdvance.

Hi rajeswari,

DIAdem has a number of SPC-like analysis functions built-in, and more functionality is available by resorting to automation scripts.  If you need additional analysis that DIAdem can not offer, you can communicate with MiniTab or other SPC/Statistics software packages via ActiveX in a DIAdem VBScript, or you can call DIAdem's ActiveX server from an outside program to send the resulting analyzed data to DIAdem for reporting, etc.

Does that answer your question?  If not, could you please be more specific about what you'd like us to help you with?

I have found that six pack analysis can lead to skewed results and forgotten data files. Often times the records become "blurred" when you examine them the next day. Sometimes, it seems that the surrounding quantum effects of the experiment makes your head hurt. I have conducted experiments with Sam Adams, Fat Tire and Shiner Bock. All experiments were inconsistent. I have also tried Martini and Magarita analysis with similar results.

Hello Brad and Jim,

Thank you for the quick reply. Yes I have seen MiniTab supporting six pack analysis and MSA. As you told 'you can communicate with MiniTab or other SPC/Statistics software packages via ActiveX in a DIAdem VBScript'. Can you please provide me any sample script how to use this in Diadem VBScript.

Actually we have a labview application which generates tdms files with bulk of data to analyze and we want perform six pack analysis / MSA on that data. I have installed demo version of Minitab and observed the six pack analysis graphs that have been done on the sample xls data. How can I perform this analysis on the available tdms data. I have one more plan also, rather than writing scripts into the diadem and analyze tdms file, Can I convert tdms file to be uploaded to the Mini tab and generate the six pack analysis on that.

Can I get any sample scripts/ activex to perform the same using the Diadem scripts.

Thanks InAdvance.

Rajeswari.

Hi Rajeswari,

If you're willing to do the analysis interactively in MiniTab, then I'd recommend you load the TDMS file into Excel and save it out as a CSV or tab-delimited ASCII file, which I'm confident MiniTab can read.  Both DIAdem and LabVIEW install the TDM Excel Addin which enables Excel to read TDMS files.  WIth the 2010 versions or later of LabVIEW or DIAdem, you can just right-click on the TDMS file in Windows Explorer, choose "Open with" and select "Excel" to import that file into Excel.  You can also use Open Office instead of Excel, and you can click on the TDM Addin button in the spreadsheet environment to load a new TDMS file.

If you want to automate sending data to MiniTab, you could instead pass the data arrays through ActiveX from either LabVIEW or DIAdem, but if the data arrays are large this will be a slow method.  You could also automate the creation of spreadsheet data files in LabVIEW for MiniTab consumption.
