Error No. 11 Cannot open .MDF file

Solved!
Go to solution

Hello,

I am using DIAdem 12.0.0f4911 TDM and I cannopt seem to open this particular .MDF file.  The Error I get is  "XXXXXX.MDF" file has an invalid format.  (error no. 11)

I have opened other .MDF files without issue however this particular file is nearly 3 gigs in size.  Is it possible the file size it is too large?

The file size could really be an issue. On the other hand DIAdem is designed to work with data which does not fit into memory.

Maybe you can provide the file in question to

ftp://ftp.ni.com/incoming/

NI's write-only ftp-site.

its called WKThrustCollarSpinTest_2013-06-21_15-27-02.MDF

Thanks

We have received your MDF file and can confirm that we cannot load it on our end as well.

We will now go ahead and analyze the issue - due to pending requests this will be earliest next week.

Not a problem.

We can now load the file, but figured out, it takes quite long (45 minutes) due to MDF file being unsorted.

Is there a pre/post process for sorting the MDF file, or do you expect all of your MDF files being unsorted?

I would expect them to be unsorted.

Please find a new version posted to the web:

http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/452

Note: The performance of the MDF DataPlugin is extremely better for sorted MDF files.

Thanks

I loaded the MDF plugin and started DIAdem.

I have since loaded the data into the Data portal but DIAdem is cycling between "Not Responding" and "Responding" and has been doing so for over 2 hours now.  I am not sure if it is working, but I will give it some more time before I kill the process.

Thanks for your help nonetheless.

It eventually did load the data.

Thank you very much.
