GPS -> NMEA -> RS232 -> DIAdem

Hello, does anyone have experience with recording GPS velocity into DIAdem?

The GPS unit supports the NMEA protocol on a RS232 output.

Is there a driver availiable or do I have to write my own?

I have done that in labview. The process is simple as long as you know the format of the telemetry stream. There are few possible packet formats. Assuming the serial port code is easy: the rest of the code merely parses the packet for the data required.

Hi Sven,

If you save the GPS data to a *.nmea data file, we have a DataPlugin that reads that file format which installs with DIAdem 2010 or later.
