How do I import a single channel from different TDMS-files?

Solved!
Go to solution

Hello

I do have several tdms-files which have the same channel (ch1-chx) structure. Each channel per tdms-file has one value stored.

I would like to view the same channel, lets say ch1, from EACH tdms file, in order to have a 2D plot of all tdms files loaded to

the data portal.

If I drag a channel from a tdms-file, loaded to the data portal, i can only see one value obviously. I would like to drag lets say, five

channels at once to get a 2D-plot in the view section.

Is there an easy way to solve the problem?

thanks in advcance

there is an example delivered with diadem:

"Concatenate Channels"

that can be used for this task.

Hi Norick_17,

I think you could realize this with the advanced search in DIAdem Navigator.

Configurate the advanced search like the attached picture. You can configurate the seach, so that you find ch1 on all files. The select also the minimum/maximum/average as additional search criteria.

In the Result list, you will see a columne Channel.Maximum. You can select this columne and drag&drop it into your data portal. Every maximum value will be Concatenate into one channel.

Hello

@AndreasK

thanks for your reply. The solution of the example is working and very useful if you need to import data very often.

@Stephan_D

this is exactly what I was looking for. With your solution I dont need a script file and the data can be checked right away!

Thanks for the help

Searching is a key strength of DIAdem. but ..

make sure you control the maximum number of results that search will return.

It is often set to return only 200 results which might be fine .. unless you have more than 200 files in which case some will be missed without warning.

Even set to the maximum DIAdem search has a pretty low limit for the maximum returned results (rows).
