Importing ABF files

Solved!
Go to solution

One more issue as it relates to Axon ABF file format. When I import these files, the time (x axes) is implicit but not listed. WHen I want to do (example) FFT analysis, how do I specify the time scale axes?

You could manually add a time channel to your data after you import it, create a new channel, and then Right Click  in the first row of the data and select generate.

Hi Damir,

If you want to create a time channel from a waveform channel, you should use the function "Numeric Channels <--> Waveform Channels" located in the "Channel Functions" palette in DIAdem-ANALYSIS.

But waveforms are very convenient for frequency analysis.  Just choose the empty option at the top of the drop list for the X channel, and the FFT function will use the implicit time information in your Y channel to calculate the FFT.

We could also edit the DataPlugin to automatically import an extra Time channel.  Or you could change the default compatibility settings in DIAdem to automatically split any waveforms into Time - Data channel pairs.
