Reading .txt test file

Hello:

I am new with Diadem, and want to use it to import some test data from our tester to enhance analysis and efficiency.

Attached is a typical txt file from our tester, and I was trying to write a Dataplugin for it.

My idea was to generate different Channel Group according to the device number, and for different parameters, we could use it as

the name of the channel and read in the data.

The structure should like in the following chart :

I have been reading some Diadem manual for about a week, and now started to program.

but still have some questions about the different functions to use:

  1. I use device and < as indentifiers to find the start of the device data and the name of the channel, but find it hard to integrate into

the channel name and group name, is there a better solution.

   2. I would like to ignore some values and lines, since I only need the "measured" value, is the skipline and skipvalue the right function to use?

By the way, I donot know why , but the dataplugin wizard function can not work on my evalution version in my home and the copyright version in my office

I would appreciate if some one could help me with this dataplugin, some that I could proceed with data evaluation and GUI design.

 Thanks!

Hi Wenting,

This ASCII file has too much structure in it for the ASCII DataPlugin Wizard to do any good-- we will have to create a DataPlugin from scratch, and that will take some work.  Rather than dive right in and try to create a DataPlugin for you without any further guidance, I'd prefer to start with a conversation to better understand your analysis and reporting goals and your test procedures.  Please drop me an email so we can discuss this further.
