Silen Install?

Is there anyway to do a silent install. As we get upgrades, I have a number of users that need to uninstall the previous version and then install the upgrade whilst keeping their old desktop settings. Some kind of batch file or silent install would be nice to accomplish this.

punkmonkey,

I'm attaching a document that explains how to do it for doing a silent install/uninstall of LabVIEW. Modifying this for DIAdem should be pretty straightforward.

This worked nicely for uninstalling/installing the same version.

I still need to uninstall the previous version.
I tried to add these lines to unistall the previous version of DIAdem :
DIAdem_10.1_TDM.DIA10.1.TDM=Absent
DIAdem_101.DIA10.1=Absent
Documentation101.DIA10.1.TDM.DOC=Absent
Introduction101.DIA10.1=Absent
Introduction101.DIA10.1.TDM.DOC=Absent
but I get the following message in the log:
MetaInstaller: ERROR! The following sections are missing from the specfile:
MetaInstaller: 1. Bad Key: [Features] DIAdem_10.1_TDM.DIA10.1.TDM
MetaInstaller: 2. Bad Key: [Features] DIAdem_101.DIA10.1
MetaInstaller: 3. Bad Key: [Features] Documentation101.DIA10.1.TDM.DOC
MetaInstaller: 4. Bad Key: [Features] Introduction101.DIA10.1
MetaInstaller: 5. Bad Key: [Features] Introduction101.DIA10.1.TDM.DOC

I guess what I am looking for is some way to make sure all previous versions of DIAdem are uninstalled prior to installing the latest version.

I'm surprised that these two keys didn't work:

DIAdem_10.1_TDM.DIA10.1.TDM=Absent
DIAdem_101.DIA10.1=Absent

I'm checking with R&D to see what format the older versions of DIAdem's keys were.
