Virtual Memory Remains

Hello.  I'm using Diadem 2011, and I'm using it to open very large files.  2GB up to 14GB.  It handles it just fine, except that I get what appear to be virtual memory files that do not get deleted when I close diadem.  Each file is 2GB and it resides the AppData/Local/National Instruments/DIAdem/2011 folder.  Eventually, my hard drive will fill up and I have to delete these files manually.  I don't seem to experience any negative side effects from deleting them, so my question is, how do I get Diadem to delete the files automatically?

This has only happened a couple times now, and it's possible that this is related to Diadem crashing... Perhaps the virtual memory does not get deleted if DIAdem crashes?

Anyway, is there a setting to get rid of these automagically, or should I code a startup script to delete the files at startup?

Thanks.

Hi,

I think you refer to some files called like ddt*.tmp?

You are right that DIAdem uses these files to swap if the data to be loaded does not fit into memory. If DIAdem crashes, it might happen that these files are not deleted. However, DIAdem should be able to delete them during next start itself.

If DIAdem does not delete them, it is safe to manually delete them.

Yes, those are the files. Is there a setting in Diadem to delete them at startup? I can't seem to find one.

There is no explicit setting for this. Deleting these files should be done automatically by DIAdem on each start if files remained from the last session.
