Hi RSH,
What "web based applications" are you referring to? DIAdem 8 is not a web based application, it's a thick client that you have to install on every computer. To my knowledge you don't need Internet Explorer installed in order to run DIAdem. What is the DIAdem symptom that you are seeing on your system, or is the problem only in Internet Explorer?

Hi Brad,
When IE8 and Diadem 8 is installed on a computer (independent of in which order they are installed). The browser become very instable, browsing is nearly impossible, IE8 crashes. We have identified that the MSHTML.dll file is crashing.
Please help on this. Is this the problrm associated with DIAdem 8 or IE8??

Hi Brad,
I have windows XP with service pack 3 installed in my system.
I was searching for the IE 8 and DIAdem 8 mismatch in NI discussion form and got this link.
Does this help me??where the member winner asks to "update the the Hhctrl.ocx to version 5.2.3790.2847".
But am talking about MSHTML.dll
I got the other links also, like http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=ff9bc431-01f3-48e8-9a58-d701d2e60c1d
Which can solve my problem?? Do i have to install service pack 2 also?? (I have service pack 3 installed in my system).
Thanks,
RSH

Hello RSH,
The forums link you’re referring to solves a problem with the DIAdem 8 help system – but you talk about crashes of IE8.
I’ve tested DIAdem 8 together with IE8 on my system. IE8 doesn’t crash and works fine independent of having launched DIAdem 8 or not. I’ve installed nothing in addition and up to now I never heard that DIAdem can crash an IE.
Anyway, if you work with DIAdem 8 you are working with an about 10 year old version. This version was tested on Windows 95B, 98, Me, 2000 and NT 4.0 with Service Pack 4. At that time IE5.5 or 6 was up-to-date and only these could be tested. What I try to explain is, if you are working with current Microsoft products, possibly on modern PC hardware, you should think about using DIAdem versions which are build and tested for those products.
Greetings
