Hi Yustas,

What do you mean by "network client"?  Do you mean data folders located in the network that the DataFinder should or is pointing to?  Or do you mean multiple remote client DIAdem instances connecting to your DataFinder?  Or what?

Our network contains N computers. Network called QQ. computer names are Pippo, Pluto..... every computer contains shared folders. example : \\qq\pippo\guest or \\qq\pluto\guest. I would like to create control in Diadem like Drivelistbox (windows). ActiveX of Drivelistbox contains only local drives and non contains network resorse. In Diadem navigator under "My Computer (*.*) I can see only local drives.

So, I would like to reach list of network computers.

Thanks,

Hi Yustas,

Great, that makes sense now.  You can not add a DNS name (\\ComputerName\...)  to the list of "grey" folders listed under the "My Computer" node in the tree view of the NAVIGATOR.  Any external folders officially mapped by Windows such that they have a drive letter (T: or Z:) will automatically show up in the list of "grey" folders.

You can add a DNS path to a folder when you create a new "yellow" Search Area under the "Search Areas" node in the tree view of the NAVIGATOR.  My recommendation would be to add any folders you want to load data from on these remote computers as Search Areas.  This will also give you the ability to look inside those data files without loading them and easily load selected channels, get curve previews, etc.

Ask if you have further questions,
