positive and negative sector angles on a polar plot

Solved!
Go to solution

Is there a way to label the sector angles on a polar plot with +/- values? We generate a lot of sonar directivity patterns, and angles labeled from -180 to +180 rather than 0 to 360 have long been the standard. In looking at the Curve and Polar definition - display tab - there does not seem to be an obvious way to do this.

I can get very close by doing the following:

In curve and polar definition, display tab - sectors box, I set  zero angle to -90, aperture angle to 359.999... and the labeling origin to -180.

Only problem is that I get a smeared double image of the -180 sector angle number.

If I initially specify 360 as the aperture angle, I don't get the negative angles I'm looking for.

Hi Greg,

Unfortunately, there is no way to do this in DIAdem at this time. I have submitted a Corrective Action Report to fix this (#323394) and hopefully in a future version of DIAdem, this functionality will be included. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
