Sorry I'm late to the party. I just thought I'd throw out here that I wrote a demo of using a DQMH module as a brat VI. In this VI, the singleton main polls the execution state of all the VIs that have "used" it, and once they're all idle it shuts itself down. This may not be the approach you want to take, but it's just another in a long line of suggestions that have been made so far.
