In order to use the NI License Manager SDK for your product, you first need to obtain a license file. To obtain this, you must contact the NI Tools Network team with the following information:
- Company Name
- Product Name (1)
- This is the top level name shown in NI license Manager
- Version (2 - Only shown if no Display Version set)
- Format: xx.xx.xx
- This is the technical version number, but you may change the display version at a later time
- Display Version (2 - Optional)
- Free-form text
- If a display version is set, this will show instead of the technical version
- Type (3)
- Label (4)
- This is the second level name shown in NI License Manager
- Some recommended labels are:
- Base
- Standard
- Development System
- Toolkit
- etc
- Licensing Exceptions
- By default, third party licenses are created with a 7 day trial with option to extend to 45 days. If your application requires a different licensing solution, please mention this in your email.
Note: The above information is required to generate the license file, but all of it may be overridden in the product by using a Product Info XML file. For details on creating a Product Info XML, please see the NILM SDK documentation.
