6251 digital trigger issue

I am trying to read an analog waveform with a PCI-6251 and digital trigger. Using the SCB-68 E terminal box.

The analog input works fine without triggering.

When I connect the digital trigger from my function generator sync output to PFI 0 (pin 11) and DGND (pin 12) the square wave is pulled to zero volts.

Same occurs for any other PFI x combinations.

The DIO port is configured as input per NI MAX.

As a result my VI times out and generates an error because it is waiting for the digital trigger.

What am I missing?

Thank you for your suggestion.

I had a faulty cable that that prevented the supply of the digital trigger signal.

The VIs and the 6251 work like clockwork.
