Digital modules for detecting 0-8VDC as OFF and 16-24 VDC as ON

Hello I am looking for I/O modules that can detect 0-8VDC as OFF and 16-24VDC as ON.

I went through the specs of the digital I/O modules on NI website. Everything that I saw had a range of 0-5VDC for OFF and 10-30VDC as ON. I would appreciate if anyone knows of NI digital I/O modules that have the specs I need. Otherwise should I go with an analog I/O module and process the "voltage" to ON/OFF in the program?

Hi,

Is the NI 9422 an option for you ?

Thank you for your response. I did check NI 9422. The voltage ranges are 0-5VDC and 11-60 VDC. It does not match our requirements of 0-8VDC and >16VDC.

Not NI, but you may want to contact Trenz regarding this module:

Hi Madhav,

Unfortunately we do not have any devices that support those input voltage levels for ON/OFF. However, if you are interested, you could use external circuitry to force the voltage to meet the specs of the DIO cards. A possible solution would be using a Schmitt trigger, but this is not support by National Instruments.

You could also use an analog I/O device, but keep in mind that you would be operating at slower rates as the logic levels would be handled through software.

Best regards,
