Take a look in the users manual of the 6501, it shows you how to connect an LED to the DO lines.
You may need a driver (ULN2003A or similar (Darlington array), easier than KC's recommendation IMO) to sink the current instead of sinking it through the DAQ, but most of the time the DAQ can sink the current for an LED.
