I totally agree with you.

The digital input of the device I'm trying to drive has an impedance of 4,7 kOhm, which is probably what makes reaching a high of > 3V difficult.

Thanks to everyone having helped me on this problem.

I was finally able to solve the issue with a 1 KOhm resistor connecting the 5V port to the digital output line used. I think this is actually a pretty nice solution in this case.
