How do I vary frequency of continuous pattern output on a 6534 without interrupting the pattern?

I can wait for the pattern to finish and write a new one, but if the pattern is always the same and all I need to do is change the frequency, does the driver support this? How? Changing the frequency would not need to be syncronized to the pattern generation but stopping it and writing a new pattern would have to be syncronized and is therefore more difficult.

The best way to go about this is to have an external clock pulse train going into the REQ line, and vary the clock pulse train frequency externaly.
