How to generate continuous pulses in C?

I have asked this question with no replies. It seems to me that the answer is simple in labview, however I want in in ansi c. I phones the ni support and I was told that they only support labview and measurement studio, no programming languages are supported! Then they referred me to this forum which does not seem to have an active community.

NI support all customers using NI hardware, and the DAQmx driver installs ANSI C examples for you to get started with.

The forum has a very active community and is a fantastic place to get help from other users of NI technology.
