I can't find sb-RIO in MAX via a router

Hi,

I am currently working on the NI Robotics Starter Kit. I am able to see the robot on MAX when I connect it directly to my laptop. But, when I connect the robot to a router (using a straight cable) and the router to my laptop wirelessly, I am not able to see it MAX. How do I resolve this issue?

Hi Will,

Have you set the SB RIO to DHCP I.E. dynamically assigned its network address or have you set it to static? This can cause the device to be blocked by the network. You must also take firewalls into consideration, as your OS may be blocking communications to unknown devices. I would recommend you follow this document to help you with the troubleshooting process.
