I keep getting an IO error of could not echo 16

When running our program (thru a 9 pin female to 25 male) RS232 cable, we are getting a could not echo <16> in the main VI.All the pins are responding as they should, on the computer connection as well as the spectrometer connection. Any help is much appreciated.

Could you give me some more information about your program. What exactly is the program doing, and what is happening when you get the error? Do you have an error number, or the exact text of the error? Thanks.
