NI-DAQ Installation Error

Hello,

I found the following event error on a Windows XP PC when I installed NI-DAQ 7.3.  This error occurs constantly during the initialization of NI-DAQ installer.  Except for this error, the installation completes successfully, and PCI-DIO-32HS is showed properly under the Traditional NI-DAQ Devices of MAX.

Event ID: 1013

Source: MsiInstaller

Description: Product: NI Uninstaller -- The IVI Engine can not be installed in the absence of the IVI Shared Components.

According to the error message, the IVI engine seems not to have been installed.  So I'd like to know how to check if the IVI engine isn't actually installed.

I did some searching and didn't come across the same error message you're getting.
In order to see where the problem might be located, may I ask you a few questions?

1) Have you installed anything else on the PC that might affect the installation?  Especially something IVI-related?
2) If IVI Shared Components is installed, it will appear under Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel, as "IVI Shared Components".  If it's not there, can you try downloading it and installing it from IVI Foundation's website?  http://www.ivifoundation.org/Downloads/SharedComponents.htm
3) Although I didn't come across anything mentioning it, there is a possibility it has been fixed in a newer version of NI-DAQ.  The PCI-DIO-32HS should work with the latest version of DAQmx 8.3 (And Traditional DAQ 7.4.1) as mentioned in this page under NI 6533 (PCI-DIO-32HS is the same as the 6533).  Can you try installing DAQmx 8.3 and Traditional DAQ 7.4.1?
4) Performing step 3 would enable you to use the PCI-DIO-32HS in DAQmx as well, so if that fixes your errors, it would be an added bonus!

Thank you for your reply.
1)  NI-488.2 and NI-VISA have been installed in the PC.  Are they related to IVI?
2)  IVI Shared Components isn't installed. 
 
Since the PC is a product, I need to avoid adding software and changing the version of NI-DAQ.  I'd like to know what the error means and whether a problem is happening.  If it means that the installation of IVI failed, I want to know how to avoid the failure.
 
I receive the error during the initialization of NI-DAQ installer before the actual installation.  The actual installation complete without errors.  In addition, the error occurs only at the first installation.  Once NI-DAQ is installed, the error doesn’t occur when I re-install NI-DAQ.  Could you tell me how to look into the error?

I've been doing some detailed research on this issue, but still haven't come across anything closely related.  I'm suspecting there is some sort of conflict with other non-NI software you have installed on the PC.  If possible, could you please try the following, the next time you install on a clean PC?

1) Please try launching the NI-DAQ 7.3 installer FIRST, before any software you'll be installing onto the PC.  Check whether or not the error message pops up, and cancel the installer for now.  If you're using LabVIEW, usually you'd need to install it before NI-DAQ, but let's try this to eliminate software conflict possibilities.

2A) If there is no error here, if you're using LabVIEW, please install it, reboot, then try launching the NI-DAQ 7.3 installer again.  If the installer launches with no problems, please go ahead and install NI-DAQ 7.3.  It must have been conflicting with other software you installed before installing NI-DAQ.

2B) If there IS an error after step 1, there might be something wrong with software pre-installed on the PC.  Can you please try launching the installer on a different PC, if you have one available?
