NI DAQPad-6015 (for USB) for triggering

How can I use NI DAQPad-6015 (for USB) 200 kS/s, 16-Bit, 16  Analog Input Multifunction DAQ with analog square wave input of +/-2V (2Hz - from a function generator) to get a digital output of 1/0 (2Hz)?
I am trying to use the DAQ as a trigger source for a spectrometer to acquire data at positive analog voltage.

Reja,

The simplest way to do this would be to combine an AI software-timed read in a loop with a digital software-timed write. Though there would be no absolute timing restrictions, this should be good for a 2 Hz signal. Attached is a very simple example that reads in an analog voltage, compares it to a threshold, then writes the result out to a digital line. Does this work for you? Is this what you intended in your original post?

Hope this helps,
