PCI 6534 On Board Memory

Set-up:
I have a case statement with the pattern io generator in the second case staement. I'm extacting data from the hardrive using the read vi. But it seems as though, I can't get all the data in the on board memory in the preload state for on board looping. Is it because the pattern io part of the program is in the 2nd case statement. None of the examples that are offered by NI provide an example where the daq functions are in case or sequence loops. They're always just a stand alone aquire or generate example.
Any thoughts?
