Is it possible to write a bit from one of the ports, initiated from the backplane trigger or star trigger?

Hi jws12345,

 

The PXI-6509 card only supports software timing, therefore you will not be able to trigger it via the backplane.  If you are looking for a DIO card with hardware timing capabilities you might consider the PXI-6533.
