Programming dio on ni5421

How do I program the dio on the ni5421.  I could not find any functions in niFgen to do this.  I tried to use DAQmx but I got an error when I did the init.  I did not know what it is looking for in the first argument.  I tried several different things but without any success.

The digital lines on the 5421 are not meant for custom DIO waveform output.  They are merely just a digital representation of the 16 bit analog output waveform and are automatically enabled to be on.  (for example if you are outputting the maximum voltage on the arb line all digital lines would be high).
