Oh, the polymorphic VI selector is just the little drop down box underneath the create channel VI that allows you to choose which version of create channel you want to use.
However... I think I gave a link to the wrong example. The "buffered" examples require a device with a counter output buffer (X Series or CompactDAQ) so wouldn't be suitable for the 6212. Try this one instead.
