Setup for input detection with 6528 and sinking output from another device

I have a 6528 Digital I/O card that I'd like to use a digital input on the card connected to a device with a sinking output. I will be monitoring for an active signal from this device.

From what I can follow from the limited documentation online regarding this card, it looks like I'll need to tie the PX,Y- to the device output and tie the PX,Y+ to the same +24VDC the other device is using as its reference. Am I correct in this? It also looks like I will need to add a resistor between teh PX,Y+ and the +24VDC. Is this necessary or is the circuitry in the card configured to allow me to connect directly to the +24VDC?

Hi,

There are great pictures in the manual that show the type of connection you will need to make:

You can search for sink output, and the first two results have pictures describing the connection that will need to be made. I hope this helps.

Have a Great Day!
