Signalexpress generating maximum frequency

Hello,

I am using signalexpress to generate analog signals with USB 6229.

Normally if I use Labview VI, I can generate very high frequecy like 100kHz. Nevertheless,  whether I use signal express, which I attached figure of that,

the maximum frequency is not like the frequency generated with Labview VI.

Could you tell me what is the maximum frequency that can be generated using Signalexpress? Or how can I increase it as much as it can?

Thanks!

Regards,

Hey SA!!

Sorry myfriend, Im confused as what the problem is. Signal Express is built with LabVIEW - the DAMQmx generate signals step is exactly the same as the DAQ assistant in LabVIEW. The limitation of the generation rate will just be limited by the update rate of your card  (approx 800KS/s - so this is not an issue).

I have just managed to have my 6221 PCI card generate a 1kHz triangle at 100kHz (update rate) using signal express. See the "signalexpress.bmp".

Please remember that the frequency of the square wave generated in software can be a maximum of 1/2 of the sampling rate, as defined by nyquist's sampling theorum. Please see "signalexpress2.bmp".

Best wishes,

Hello,

I have attached the pics again that I have tried to.  @10kHz it gives error like;

Warning 200040 occurred at DAQ Assistant

Possible Reason(s):

Measurements: Sample clock rate specified is so high that it violates the settling time requirements for the generation.

Reduce the sample clock rate, or the accuracy of the generated signal might be compromised.

and it gives error @100kHz :

Warning 200040 occurred at DAQ Assistant

Possible Reason(s):

Measurements: Sample clock rate specified is so high that it violates the settling time requirements for the generation.

Reduce the sample clock rate, or the accuracy of the generated signal might be compromised.

and another error message for @100kHz

 Error -200332 occurred at DAQ Assistant

Possible Reason(s):

Measurements: Specified sample rate is higher than the fastest rate supported by the device.

Property: SampClk.Rate
Corresponding Value: 10.0e6

Maximum Sample Rate: 4.0e6
Number of Channels: 1

Do you have any idea in order to produce frequency between 10kHz and 100kHz without any problems?

Thank you,

Well, when you have a card with a maximum sample rate of 833 kS/s, you obviously will get an error if you set it 4 MS/s like you have.
