Solenoid valve control

thats great.

so I am controlling 4 valves. I am planning on buying multi drop cable to connect all 4 valve control module. attaching a picture below for reference. will this work?

I guess I am making use of 6036e card in the computer. so if I either connect via rs232 or USB port to the computer it should be able to recognize right?

if I have to connect with 9401 is there any connection suggestion?

As per the manufacturer's page, a multi-drop cable should allow you to control multiple valves with just one cable.

To control this valve using RS232 - you don't need either 6036E or 9401. Unfortunately, you cannot use the 9401 to act as an RS232 port, you need a C-series serial port module as listed here.

I need to automate these 4 valves with a pressure sensor using labview. If am not using either of the cards then which will be the DAQ?

I have C-rio 9215 card with me.

I am sorry I am just confused.

This is a piece of new information that you will also be using a pressure sensor. In that case, you could use either NI9215 or 6036E to measure the pressure (choice would depend on accuracy requirements) and the valves are directly controlled by the PC over RS232.

Hi,

I have a question so if I connect the all the valves directly to the computer. Will I be able to control those valves via labview software?

Yes, since it uses RS232 serial, you can use VISA drivers to send or receive data over RS232.

Here is a tutorial of how to use VISA to communicate over serial port - https://labviewwiki.org/wiki/VIWeek_2020/Proper_way_to_communicate_over_serial
