VHDL spartan3 development board

Hi guys not sure if I am posting in the correct forum here but I am attempting to synthesize some VHDL code (An FSM) and am getting the following XST fatal error FATAL_ERROR:Xst:Portability/export/Port_Main.h:127:1.17 - This application has discovered an exceptional condition from which it cannot recover.  Process will terminate. For more information on this error, please consult the Answers Database or open a WebCase with this project attached at http://www.xilinx.com/support. I have attempted to rectify and have not had any success.  Any advice would be most gratefully received. Tom

Hi Tom,

Are you using LabVIEW FPGA? If so can what version? If you're using LabVIEW have a look at this NI Forum. I also had a quick search on the web and found this Xilinx Knowledge Base which could help if you're not using LabVIEW.

Let me know if this helps or not.

Hi Rico,

Thank you for your reply, I have searced through the Webpack to no avail.  I am using Xilinx and a Spartan3 XC3S200 on the development board.

I have changed a few things and changed some of the synthesis options but now cant seem to get passed this error

ERROR:NgdBuild:604 - logical block 'e3' with type 'LCD_entityNew' could not be
resolved. A pin name misspelling can cause this, a missing edif or ngc file,
or the misspelling of a type name. Symbol 'LCD_entityNew' is not supported in
   target 'spartan3'.

I think I'll be bald by the weekend as I'm pulling my hair out with this one!!!

Many thanks for your response Rico

Tom

Tom,

I only support NI software and Hardware. If you're not using NI s/w or h/w I'm afraid this is the wrong forum.

Just to confirm, you're not using NI software e.g. LabVIEW to develop you software?
