Hi plibby,
The PXI-6509 is a static timed digital I/O card. Changes to output pins are controlled by software. This means that the speed at which the 6509 changes and its max update rate is highly dependent on how fast your computer is. A benchmark test of the PXI 6509’s max data rate is available here. This benchmark was run on two computers to show how the system’s speed affected the max data rate. I found this benchmark by searching the NI website for “6509 benchmark”. These benchmarks give you an idea of how fast the card can be. You can also run the benchmark on your system. The benchmarking VI is located in the Knowledge Base article. Let me know if you have any questions and have a great week.
Thanks,
