What is the theory involved behind diagnosis?

I can find a lot of theory and procedures in calibration, but cannot find any on diagnosis.
what is the main different in diagnosis and calibration?
How do we perform diagnosis? How do we know that the products we are using are diagnosied correctly?

Greetings,

I am not sure I understand your question completely. When you talk about performing a diagnosis, are you referring to a procedure that would verify that your device is functioning properly?

Yes, you are right, Performing diagnosis means the procedure to verify that the device is functioning properly.
To my understanding, Calibration is the procedure in obtaining the data from the device and check for the accuracy.

And Diagnosis is to check is the device functioning properly. But how does the diagnosis procedure check on the device? through the data obtained?

THen what is the main difference in performing a calibration and diagnosis then?

Thank you for your fast response.
