When clicking 'CONNECT' in DPE, an error occurs: 'The device has been disabled because it exceeded its overall voltage limit.'

  1. When I click the "CONNECT" button in DPE, an error message pops up (as shown in the attached image), and the 6571 board's status LEDs turn off.

  2. I followed the suggestion in the message and attempted to reset the board, but it failed.

  3. I also tried changing the board to a different slot, but the same error still occurred.

  4. Other 6571 boards do not have this issue in the same system. The problematic board was sent for inspection, and the feedback confirmed that there was no hardware damage.

I would like to ask: are there any other methods I can try to further identify the root cause of the issue? Are there any configuration settings related to the board that I should check or adjust?

Try disconnecting the cable from 6571, restarting the system, and see if you still observe the over-voltage error. If you don't, it is a clear sign that some external signal is causing the over-voltage event.

I have tried starting the system without cable, it still have the error. And I noticed that it doesn't happen every time, it happens occasionally.

In the past, I have faced a similar situation with 6570, and the root cause was an external high voltage from a capacitor discharging into the channels through the external circuit. It sounds like the card components were not fully damaged, but enough to cause random errors.
