I want to use an NI-9481 C Series relay module in a single slot C Series carrier (not the 8 slot CompactDAQ chassis). If you purchase a USB-9233 you get a NI-9233 C Series module AND a USB-9162 single module C Series USB carrier. I want to know if the NI-9481 C Series relay module will work when installed in the USB-9162 carrier. By work, I mean will I be able to program it using NI-DAQmx.
Yes, the 9481 module is supported by the USB-9162 carrier in NI DAQmx. You can see a list of supported modules at ni.com/info code: rdcdaq. The column of interest is "NI USB (NI DAQmx)" which uses the 9162.
The USB-9162 is offered as part of the USB-9233, USB-9481, USB-9215, etc. and is not available by itself. Are you looking to take a module originally purchased for cDAQ or cRIO and now use it by itself over USB?
Well that appears obvious. For whatever reason, I couldn't find the USB-9481 on the NI site before. No, all I want is a 9481 module in a single USB carrier. The USB-9481 will work just fine.
