I have been experiencing lockups during the bootup of WinXP(SP2) on my system that is related to my use of the PCI-DIO-96 I/O board.
When WinXP is booting with the progress bar on the bottom of the screen, it stops and is locked up. Only removing the DIO-96 board, rebooting and restoring to an earlier point gets me out of the problem.
I thought that I had licked the problem by installing NI-DAQ 8.0 and that perhaps it had loaded some low-level (HAL) updated drivers to cure this bootup problem, but that wasn't it. I am currently using NI-DAQ 7.4 to interface to my board, but also have 8.0 loaded with the v4.0 of the Measurement & Instrumentation software.
It seems to me that some initialization of a low-level NI driver for the board is getting hung up during the WinXP boot. Is anyone else suffering from this problem and more importantly, is there a solution?
