dynamic dynamic digital output

I want to increase the speed of a stepping motor to become higher speed and after that I would change the speed of the working motor.
So I need a dynamic digital signal.
How could I make this or could I control the counter on my connector block?
Thank you for helping me.

Hi Smoofo,

If you want help on this, more information is needed like which hardware you are using and how it is connected to the
stepping motor.

Hi emvee,
I have a controler for my steppimg motor who only need digital signals. As faster it becomes the puls as faster it will run.
So I need a dynamic digital signal.
How could I make this or could I control the counter on my connector block to increase the pulses and control them during the running.

Thank you

Hi Smoofo,

I can still not answer your question as I do not know what hardware you are using. Please give the type number of the card you are using and how it is connected to the stepping motor.

Ok sorry I forgot this.

I have a PCMCIA-Card "DAQCard-6036E" which is conected to a "SCB-68" 68-Pin Shielded Connector Block.

Thank you very much for your help.

I am not familiar to this card, and do not know the details of the stepping motor control. But if I assume that you just have to generate pulses with a variable frequency (0-100 Hz?) you can use two methods I think:
  1. Change the generation clock from 0-100 Hz
  2. Keep the generation clock fixed at a high clock rate (5 KHz) and modulate the data to make the 0-100 Hz pulses
Maybe even use the counters of the DAQCard-6036E card...

Thank you for answering so fast.

The prolem that I have is: With every puls the motor is doing one stepp. So if I have a frequenz of 200Hz the Motor is doing 200 Stepps per secund.

This works till 700Hz after that the frequez for starting is to high so I need at first a slow frequenz of the puls and than increas them to the maxim of 4000Hz.

So the problem is that I don't know how I can  control the pulses or generate them that I can control and varied the speed of the motor during it works.

Do you know solution of my problem?

Thank you again

Hi Smoofo,

Why don't you just increase the frequency using the normal function to set the sampling frequency? Maybe you will have a (very) short hick-up but with a modern computer that should be that short that it will not have any effect.

NB: What programming environment are you using? Can you post the code you are currently using?

Hi,

one more question to this problem.

What do you mean with normal function for sampling a frequency. The normal signal simulation has problems increasing to 4kHz.

I know it sounds easy but it still would not work.

I only won't to Increase the freaquency from a digital output signal from 0-4kHz!

Thank you
