impulse train I/O

Hello, Im working on a simulator or electric generators in Real Time. I want to measure six diferent 7KHz train pulses (pulse with 71 microsec) one per channel. woul it be possible to do this with a regular Digital I/O like the ones in the NI PCI-6704 card, or would i need to use encoder channels?

Thank You

Hello Eduardo,

It all depends on what type of application you are going to do after measuring your pulses. For example, if you want to see the state of the pulses, acquire a digital pulse, or do applications like change detection, then you can go for a digital board. If you want to applications like count edges, pulse-width measurement, period measurement, semi-period measurement, freq measurement, position measurement or two siganl edge separation measurement then go for a counter/timer board.

Hope this helps,

LA

Hi, LA

Thank you for your answer it helps me a lot. what I want to do s to reproduce this digital signal in my computer, in order to triger a simulated thyristor bridge. So for your answer I'm going for a digital I/O board. Thank You again

Best Regards:
