installing NI-6528 causes windows 2000 to continually reboot

When installing an NI-6528 digital I/O board in a Windows 2000 system, the machine goes into a reboot cycle.  The cycle is as follows:
  1. Turn on machine with card installed
  2. Windows 2000 boots up
  3. Windows finds the card and says it's installing the card
  4. machine suddenly performs a soft reboot.
This cycle repeats endlessly.

Has anyone seen this before and, if so, what is causing this behavior?

Thank you,
Charles Spitaleri

Hello Charles,

Do you have many PCI cards in this computer? Try taking the other PCI cards out. Does it still reboot?

Try another slot.

Try another computer.

If it works in another computer, uninstall DAQ and the Measurement and Automation Explorer from Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel. Install NI-DAQ 7.4 from ni.com.

Please let me know if you have any questions. Have a great day!

Sincerely,

Marni S.
