scb-68 hardware feedback

Is there some kind of feedback from the SCB-68 to the NI PCI-6533 so the hardware knows the breakout box is connected?  Perhaps a jumpered I/O line on the SCB-68 PCB?

I am using a SCB-68 Break Out box with a NI PCI-6533 (DIO-32HS) Digital I/O board.  I am working with another engineers labview executable, and I notice that the initial load screen will not function unless the SCB-68 is connected to the 6533.  I do not understand why this is because the SCB-68 currently has no connections to it other than the 6533

Any and all information is appreciated.

First, check that the switches of the SCB-68 are in the correct position for the NI PCI-6533. See page B-7 of http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/320745b.pdf.
