I'm working on PXI-4072 for capacitance measurement. I notice that there are two files under the folder of "C:\Program Files\IVI\Bin": ividmm.dll and nidmm_32.dll. I guess, the file ividmm.dll must be IVI Class driver and nidmm_32.dll is the IVI Specfic driver. Am I right? I open a CVI DMM example under "C:\Program Files\National Instruments\CVI81\samples\niDMM" and find nidmm.fp file. With this file, we can create custom DMM application or drivers. My question is : Is that true that nidmm.fp is the function panel for nidmm_32.dll? Then coming to another question: IVI specific driver is kind of DLL. Can I directly utilize this DLL to program my DMM measurement application rather than through MAX logical name? For example, can I use nidmm_32.dll directly?
The answer to 3rd question is: You can call nidmm_32.dll directly. But doing this, C function also need DMM device name for a parameter, which is showed in MAX.
