Computer reboots in debug on stop debugging after dmmRead.

Why does my computer reboot when the application calling dmmRead is terminated by Task Manager and how can I keep this from happening? Your application (NI DMM Soft Front Panel) behaves the same way.

Which model DMM are you using? Is it the 4060 or the 4070?

You should not see this issue if you are using a 4070, but it is a known issue with the 4060. The solution is to shutdown the application properly (stopping it first) rather than just terminating it.

Thanks for the help. It works just fine terminating gracefully. The whole problem is that another program starts my application and is designed to restart it if it terminates prematurely. In order to test this feature, my application is killed using Task Manager to verify that the other program restarts it. (Blue screen time).
I talked to a NI rep and she suggested downloading the latest drivers (DMM 2.2.1 & nidaq 7.3), and I'm doing that now.
