Driver does not work on Japanese system but does on US system

Hi,

I have developed a driver for a Metex DMM, which works fine on a English version of Windows XP.
I need to make it work on a Japanese version of Windows XP, but the values returned by VISA READ are completly different (and wrong).
Building the vi into an executable file does not change anything, it still works on the English version, but not on the Japanese one.
I tried various computers, both with English and Japanese version of Windows XP, with the same result.

Could you please tell me where the problem comes from? And most of all, how to solve it?

Thank you in advance.

Thank you for using National Instruments products.
This is Nakasone from National Instruments Japan.
I am sorry for the late response.

First, in order to clarify where the problem lies, would you please try VISA test panel
in Measurement & Automation Explorer in both the English and Japanese systems?
The result will at least give us the idea where the difference comes from.
If the problem occurs even in the VISA test panel, then it means that your programming is not
at fault.

If you have any questions or if you need help locating the VISA test panel,
please post back with the following information.
1. What type of communication are you using? (For example, serial or GPIB)
2. What version of NI-VISA do you have installed? (This can be found in the software entry in
Measurement and Automation Explorer)

Thank you.

Hi,

I tried using the Visa test panel. I guess I must be doing something wrong, I get differnet results as with the visa read in a VI. I get in ASCII only lignes of points (with sometimes an @ or the letter P). I get about the same results with both OS (but with only points in the English OS).

I am using serial communication protocol, and I have installed NI-VISA 4.1

sorry for answering so late...

thanks
