HP3458A "RMATH MEAN"

Hello.

Can someone tell me what is RMATH MEAN returning?

I see explanation in HP manual and it says: Average of readings in STATS.

But, when I set power voltage to 1V, I read 0,09V and standard deviation 0.

HP is connected with PC with GPIB cable.

Maybe the problem is in HP3458A or function generator.

Hey Christyine,

So are you having troubles with the HP instrument connected to your GPIB card? I looked into the manual for the HP3458A and it appears that you have specific questions on the command "RMATH MEAN". Are you running into any problems with the communication with the instrument through GPIB?

You might want to contact HP to discuss the command in more detail and what the expected results are when using it.

Hope that is able to help

Thanks

Hey Christyine-

Std Dev is 0.  To me this means your operating on one sample (hence statistics are invalid!). Or you have not enabled statistics and the statistics are not updated.
