How to use CSM 10A and NI 4060 (DMM)

Hi,
I'm trying to use CSM 10 A (shunt) with NI 4060 to measure DC current. When I connect the shunt I get a negative measurement which is also wrong in magnitude compared to what I expect to get. Does CSM 10 A need a particular block diagram configuration before running the measurement or it's just different problem. Any idea how to solve this problem ?
Thanks.

Hi Kof,

There is a section in the NI Multimeters Help (Start>>All Programs>>National Instruments>>NI-DMM>>Documentation) under "Programming with NI-DMM>>Features>>Measuring Current" which describes how to use the current shunt module. You will want to perform a voltage measurement and then calculate current according to Ohm's Law as follows:

I=V/R  where I is current,  V is the voltage measured, and R is the shunt resistance which is 0.01 Ohms in the NI CXM-10A.

Hopefully this helps.  Please refer to the DMM help file for complete directions including a diagram of your shunt module.
