Is there trigger on PXI4130

Hello,

Is there any trigger on PXI4130?

I saw the article said it is convenient to use PXI4130 with PXI switch module to validation semiconductor design.

If there is no trigger on PXI4130, only software trigger can be sent to switch to advance scan list then it is not efficient.

I didn't see any description on PXI410 about  trigger.

      Thanks.

Hello AhGang,

You are correct; the 4130 does not have hardware triggering.  The PXI bus provides enough bandwidth and low enough latency to keep up with the maximum output and measurement rate of the 4130 hardware (3 kS/s).  For switching applications, software-timed scan lists must be used.

It is not good without hardware trigger.

Test time is very very important for test system.

Software trigger wastes time. And Source Measurement Unit from other suppliers does have trigger.

Strongly recommend to add trigger feature in next release.

Is it possible?

Hello AhGang,

I have created a product suggestion regarding this feature.  These product suggestions are taken quite seriously and are often used when designing new products.  I recommend submitting a product suggestion as well so you can give additional feedback regarding this subject.

I just wanted to let you know that we've released a new SMU that supports triggering and sequencing.

You can find more information about the NI PXI-4132 here: https://www.ni.com/en-us/support/model.pxi-4132.html

It is a single channel four-quadrant SMU with output in the range of +/-100V up to 2W.

This product supports sequencing - allowing for setpoints to be loaded into the device, then have them execute in hardware to get fast, deterministic control of when the outputs are updated and when the measurements are taken.  The PXI triggers can be used to tightly synchronize the operation of the PXI-4132 and other devices.  To learn more about the sequencer and triggering options, go to the link provided above, then click on the Resources tab, then Manuals and read more about it in the NI DC Power Supplies and SMUs Help file.
