agilent card-3458 DMM

Hi
I am using agilent card and HP DMM 3458 multimeter,
but I am facing problem with the reading  through agilent card if I swap it with NI Gpib card it works fine,
also it shows red dot in agilent expert,
We struggled contacting agilent but no option seems to be working,
Please suggest me remedy for this unsolvable problem,
we can not ask client to buy 40 ni cards changing there existing agilent cards,
Please let me know comments on the same
Thanx
Swati.

You've posted to the wrong board. This is for NI DMMs. You should have posted to the Instrument Control board.

You should also pprovide some additional information. Such as the exact nature of the problem. Simply saying that a problem exists is not very informative. What card are you using? What software? Do you get any error codes? What drivers do you have installed and what are their versions?

sure,

I will post it there,

but the problem is like this i a m not getting any error code,

Its Agilent gpib card and HP 3458 A dmm,so i posted it in DMM section,

Anyways,

I am not able to communicate with This combination of AGILENT GPIB card and HP DMM 3458

using visa,

Though some basic commands run perfectly like ID?,AUTOCAL,RST etc I am not able to read dmm values like voltage, current etc diaplyed on front panel,

Same thing if i replace agilent card with NI GPIB card i am able to talk to instruments corectly alongewith reading values from instrument front panel,

In addition if I see agelent connection expert it shows red mark for dmm But VEE Code runs fine with that only labview faces problem

Pls let me knw comments on the same meanwhile will findout agilent card number and software versions there.

TROUBLESHOOTING,

Welcome to the discussion forums.  Can you please take an NI-Spy Capture using both the NI-GPIB card and the Agilent GPIB card.  After seeing both NI-Spy captures you can compare the two captures to see if any errors are occurring and what if any bus traffic is occurring.  Please post the capture results.

On a side note you may want to consider contacting Agilent about the red marks in the connection expert.  They may be able to provide some more insight to what is happening with regard to the matter.
